Anxiety is a common mental health issue that many people experience. It is often a fear of the future and serves as our natural safety mechanism, the 'fight or flight' response, which evolved to protect us from danger. However, when unchecked, it can remain in a vigilant state, constantly scanning the environment for hidden dangers and imagining 'what if' scenarios. This can lead to a reluctance to leave the house or step outside, which can negatively affect wellbeing and limit activities, often resulting in isolation and loneliness.
A personalised hypnotherapy program can be designed to help overcome anxiety and related disorders such as panic attacks and social anxiety. My goal is to help you regain control of your life, enjoy being present in the moment, and see the positive aspects of socialising again. The tools learned during sessions are intended to provide long-term benefits beyond the therapy itself.
Stress is widespread today, often due to our fast-paced lives and constant pressure. Our minds aren't built for prolonged stress, leading to chronic issues.
Healthy stress is normal, but chronic stress causes problems like inflammatory conditions, heart disease, high blood pressure, obesity, infections, fatigue, anxiety, insomnia, depression, and worsens neurodiversity symptoms such as ASD and ADHD.
As a result, managing your stress is crucial for your long-term health, wellbeing and happiness. I will teach you lifelong techniques to reduce stress and align your life with your values for better stress management.
I can help you deal with any phobia - from a fear of flying or spiders, buttons to needles or injections. If your phobia is holding you back, then get in touch. I can guide you through a range of evidence-based techniques to reduce or eliminate your fear completely and lead the life you want.
Over 70% of people with ADHD and ASD suffer from at least one additional mental health issue. Having been recently diagnosed with ADHD myself, my goal is to support people in the neurodiverse (ND) community be their best self. It is important to address the challenges we face in society and acknowledge the higher rates of related mental health issues. Often beginning in school, the ND community experiences significantly more negative feedback, which continues throughout life. This can result in low self-worth and self-confidence and exacerbate traits such as people pleasing, perfectionism and procrastination to overwhelm and burnout.
I understand that daily life is challenging as many of us mask to fit in, using additional energy to complete tasks, staying organised, being on time, and concentrating on daily tasks other people find simple. Our ability to deal with stress is often impaired and stress can affect us badly, destroying our ability to mask and exacerbating the symptoms we need energy to counteract each day. Sensory issues may lead to over- or under-stimulation and emotional dysregulation. Hypnotherapy has been shown to be effective for a whole range of issues relevant to ND people. You no longer need to suffer, I want to help you be your best self, focussing on your strengths and talents rather than weaknesses.
Us ND individuals have higher rates of various mental health issues including anxiety, depression, addictions, weight issues, and even suicide. The treatment for these conditions will be delivered in a manner that is accommodating to ND individuals, with careful attention to go at a pace right for you. You will learn techniques and tools that can help with the whole range of issues we face. Our rooms are designed to be comfortable, featuring dim lighting, soft furnishings, and minimal clutter.
Negative self-talk often originates from adverse events or feedback, significantly influencing self-perception and impacting decision-making processes. So often we compare ourselves to others thinking they are much more successful and happier than us.
This mindset can foster feelings of entrapment and hesitation to pursue new opportunities or initiate changes due to fear of failure. Enhancing self-confidence can be an integral component of any treatment plan, or it might serve as the primary focus of therapy. By utilising techniques designed to improve self-perception, I can help you to positively alter your internal dialogue. Hypnotherapy offers various effective methods for transforming negative self-talk into positive language, thereby fostering a more constructive self-view and helping you on the journey to achieve your personal goals.

Pain serves an essential function, alerting us to potential danger and harm to our bodies. It prompts immediate action, such as withdrawing one's hand from a hot object; this is known as acute pain. Conversely, chronic pain often persists beyond the acute stage and typically serves no beneficial purpose. Over time, it can significantly impact various aspects of one's life.
Chronic pain encompasses conditions such as headaches, migraines, fibromyalgia, chronic back pain, joint pain, menstrual pain, cancer pain, and neuropathic pain. The severity of pain is often influenced by our perception and the emotions we associate with it. Our instinctive effort to identify the cause of pain and our attempts to avoid or suppress it frequently result in its persistence.
The widespread belief in medication as a complete solution for pain relief, fueled by pharmaceutical companies, has unfortunately contributed to the global opioid epidemic. In my daily practice within the NHS, I encounter numerous patients who are dependent on painkillers through no fault of their own. Their pain management is often inadequate, leading to the continuous addition of new medications. There is insufficient time to investigate the underlying causes and address the cognitive associations with pain.
Encouragingly, there are numerous hypnotherapy methods available to reduce or eliminate pain, often by altering our relationship to the pain signals without relying on medication (see disclaimer on the 'about me' page).
Hypnotherapy is now recommended in NICE guidelines for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), either as an alternative or alongside medical treatment. This is largely due to the work of Dr. Simone Peters, a leading IBS expert. She demonstrated the benefits of treating IBS by acknowledging the mind-body connection. It's medically proven that our diet and mental state affect our body, and the gut microbiome impacts our mood. Over 90% of serotonin is produced in the gut, often referred to as the "second brain."
Using techniques from Dr. Peters, I will design a personalised program focused on strengthening your mind-gut connection, enhancing body awareness, teaching relaxation tools, and improving your symptom control. The goal is to free you from the disabling symptoms holding you back from living life fully.
Hypnotherapy can address a range of issues, including inflammatory conditions like arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, asthma, psoriasis, eczema, high blood pressure, and even cancer. Stress is known to contribute to these conditions, so reducing stress may lessen their severity or frequency.
I am fascinated by the mind-body connection and its healing potential. Initially sceptical, I have become convinced that it works. While not a replacement for conventional medical treatment, hypnotherapy can complement it and enhance the chances of success.
Beyond medical issues I can help you with a range of other issues such as habit change, public speaking, lifestyle, studying, creativity, relaxation, mindfulness.
If you wish to discuss any issue, please get in touch.
